THE LEATHER

Top-grain leather from tanneries in Southern Brazil, finished with a recipe we've refined over three decades. Soft, thick, and substantial under your hand, with a finish that protects against everyday scuffing and keeps the color consistent. The bag you carry in five years still looks like the bag you carry today. Our hides come from LWG Gold-certified tanneries, the industry's highest environmental standard.

THE CONSTRUCTION

Handcrafted in our family workshop in Picada Café, in the Serra Gaúcha mountains. Dual rolled leather handles, anchored with reinforced cross-stitched attachment points. The shoulder strap detaches and adjusts, with a padded leather rest for loaded days. Inside, a single zipped pocket; outside, two magnetic front pockets with no visible hardware. Stitching matches the leather. The NORDWEG mark is embossed low and quiet on the front panel.

OUR STORY

Our parents met in a shoe factory and founded Nordweg 35 years ago, in a small mountain region of Southern Brazil settled by German immigrants who brought leatherworking with them in the 1820s. We still make every bag by hand, in the same workshop.
