THE LEATHER

Top-grain leather from tanneries in Southern Brazil, finished with a recipe we've refined over three decades. Soft and thick under your hand, with a finish that protects against the kind of everyday contact a trip bag gets: overhead bins, taxi trunks, hotel floors. The color stays consistent. The bag you pack in five years looks like the bag you pack today.

THE CONSTRUCTION

Handcrafted in our family workshop in Picada Café, in the Serra Gaúcha mountains. A full-length top zipper opens the bag end to end for fast access. Two leather-wrapped webbing handles are cross-stitched into the body with X-shaped reinforcement at the base, where the load pulls hardest. A horizontal webbing band wraps the midsection and anchors the removable shoulder strap through two metal hook-buckles. Inside, a cotton-polyester lining in dark gray with two zipped pockets. A water-resistant fabric pouch (15 × 18 inches) comes with the bag, for laundry or wet gym clothes on the ride home.

WARRANTY & REPAIR

Covered by our 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If something fails, send it back and we'll repair it at no cost. For wear-and-tear or accidental damage outside warranty, we'll quote the repair at cost.

OUR STORY

Our parents met in a shoe factory and founded Nordweg 35 years ago, in a small mountain region of Southern Brazil settled by German immigrants who brought leatherworking with them in the 1820s. We still make every bag by hand, in the same workshop. We named this line after the Italian Alps, the Dolomites, because we traveled there and loved the place enough to carry it home.
