THE LEATHER

Top-grain leather from tanneries in Southern Brazil, finished with a recipe we've refined over three decades. Soft, thick, and substantial under your hand, with a finish that protects against everyday scuffing and the occasional drop of wine wiped off quickly. Our hides come from LWG Gold-certified tanneries, the industry's highest environmental standard.

THE CONSTRUCTION

Handcrafted in our family workshop in the Serra Gaúcha mountains. The interior is fully padded and lined in dark gray cotton-polyester fabric, with a removable padded divider that holds two 750ml bottles upright and snug. A folding waiter's-friend corkscrew rides in the lid, ready when you open the carrier. The dual-stage zipper opens around the top and down one side so the lid folds back flat, giving full access without lifting the bottles out. A top loop handle for carrying by hand. The NORDWEG mark is embossed low and quiet on the front.

OUR STORY

Our parents met in a shoe factory and founded Nordweg 35 years ago, in the Serra Gaúcha mountains of Southern Brazil. The region was settled in the 1800s by German immigrants who brought leatherworking, and by Italian immigrants who founded Bento Gonçalves, the town that planted the vines that became Brazil's wine country. We named this carrier after Bento. We still make every piece by hand, in the same workshop.

CARE

Clean with a dry cotton cloth
